Event Trends 2020

Updated: Oct 1, 2023

Exciting new decor ideas, culinary offerings and ways to engage attendee at events this year.

Whether you're planning corporate events, weddings or social events you are most likely looking for new elements to offer an exciting experience for your attendees.

You're busy scrolling Pinterest for the latest decor ideas, unique culinary inspirations and entertainment enhancements that will wow your guests far beyond their Uber ride home.

There is an underlying goal for each event, with some more simplistic than others. Fundamentally it comes down to these three basic principles; to celebrate, educate or promote.

Here are some creative ideas to incorporate into your next event regardless of the type or the goal:

  1. Mobile Bars - Beverage service on wheels is the hot new way to deliver a cocktail or add a statement piece to your event. Mobile bars can come in the form of full service bar setup or specialized offerings from tap wine old school cars to margarita trucks. San Diego planners you can check out; Snake Cocktail Co., Boozy Bee or Rasta Rita Margarita Truck.

  2. Metallic Details - Shimmer & Shine with all things metal and mix and match your sliver, gold, bronze or rose.

  3. Neon Signs - This fun decor piece can be customizable to fit many different types of themes and they are relatively inexpensive. We are able to find a few options on Amazon.

  4. Eco-friendly event experiences - Clients and planners are looking for ways to reduce waste and the carbon footprint that events can leave. This can be achieved with eliminating invitations, party favors, and event programs. In regards to food service you can biodegradable disposables, recycling for bar service items and food donation programs if available in your city.

  5. Unique culinary offering - Plate based options, locally sourced, CBD infused and hard seltzers. Cheese tea is a real thing - seriously.

  6. Cannabis Tours - In California there are dispensaries popping up everyday. Companies have been capitalizing on this by organizing cannabis tours to the different dispensaries. Think wine tours, but with less bus dancing and more tacos.

  7. Dramatic decor - I'm in love with the new style decor on the market that includes, rich velvet linen, dark colored candles, ornate silverware and rich textures for table displays.

If you have any new or noteworthy trend that you're excited about or want to include your next event. Send us a message! We would love to hear from you.
