The Limited Bar Menu
When it comes to selecting the beverage options for your event there are a plethora of offerings to consider. This can feel overwhelming during the planning process and can also create overwhelm for your guests when it comes time to order a drink.
Additionally offering too many things can become costly, because ultimately you have to guess what your attendees are going to drink and purchase more product to ensure you do not run out of the most popular item.
Not to fret, the solution is to simplify your offerings and create a limited beverage menu.
By crafting the beverage experience you want to offer for your guests, you are also able to accomplish much more; like effectively managing the budget, improve efficiency in ordering and increase the speed of beverage service for the event staff.
Creating a limited beverage menu will ensure you'll achieve the following things:
Minimize the beverage cost per person by selecting items that fit your budget
Control the bottomline and stay on budget with predetermined menu items
Select a fun cocktail that represents the theme of the event or the group
With limited choices guests tend to make a selection in a shorter amount of time = shorter lines at the bar. Hooray!
Time saving tip: most catering companies or venues will be happy to create an attractive document to display your drink options in frames or on chalkboards for your guests.
Here is a sample menu that you can use for your next event. For this particular event we selected two signature cocktails, one red wine, one white wine, one sparkling wine and two beer options. Also available to guests were soft drinks and water.
If you would like to create a menu like this one I would recommend using Canva. If you haven't used Canva before it's a simple graphic design platform that you can use for free. Yes for free. They have paid accounts as well, but you can do a lot with their free account.
I created this design using the 8"x 10" sizing and then I use a standard photo frame that you can buy anywhere (Target, IKEA, Home Goods, etc.) and then I put the menu in the photo frame on the bar tops for guests to see all of the options.
I hope this helps you with planning the beverage details for your next event.
Cheers!!
